Bradford Licensing Gets Toy-Riffic Reaction From Two Properties
Montclair, New Jersey (Vocus) October 17, 2009 -- Bradford Licensing LLC - a global licensing firm representing some of the world's best-known logos, trademarks, and entertainment properties - was extremely pleased by the high level of interest they received at the Dallas Toy Show especially for two of their properties: the infamous Sherlock Holmes property which has inspired the upcoming major motion picture release of the same name and musical comedy television show, “The Wannabes,” a ‘tween television show created by writer/producer Doreen Spicer (Disney Channel’s hit movie, Jump In! and The Proud Family) and directed by Eric Dean Seaton (Suite Life of Zack and Cody, That's So Raven, Cory in The House and Sonny With A Chance). It debuts in Australia this December and is making its domestic debut in early 2010.
The name Sherlock Holmes conjures up images of surprise, mystery, suspense, cat and mouse scenarios, and clue digging. One might say this is a puzzler’s dream for creating games. “I found that the exhibitors at the Dallas Toy Show made an almost immediate association when matching Sherlock with toys and games. They spoke of some of their initial ideas with great enthusiasm,” said Neil Platt, associate at Bradford Licensing. The upcoming Christmas release and franchise of Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law will undoubtedly support the brand’s success.
The toy industry has done exceedingly well with shows like Hannah Montana and High School Musical and now the stage has been set for The Wannabes. The Wannabes aspirational tone combines singing, dancing and comedy all wrapped-up in story lines concerning friendships, dreams and every day ‘tween challenges. “Many exhibitors were looking for the next big thing and we feel that the The Wannabes just might fit the bill. The brand can be translated into myriad games and toys, including interactive ones such as musical instruments and video games. Doll, room accessory, jewelry and camera are a few types of companies that were excited about working with The Wannabes,” noted Milin Shah, Bradford associate.

Chef Adrianne Calvo: A Modern Day Restaurateur Launches Highly Anticipated, Second Cookbook
He falls between 5'8 to 6 foot tall and is in his mid 40's. Holds a stern look, big appetite, and a fouler mouth than an after hours comedian. He negotiates like clockwork and counts his minutes as if they were taxed. He never stops, he rarely sleeps, and he is always networking for his restaurant. That was the classic restaurateur (). That was then, this is now: SHE is 5'4 and 24 years old with fiery red hair, voluptuous, sexy, and confident. She never stops working but always pauses to greet her guests, she rarely sleeps but is always dreaming up what's next in the works, and she is everywhere spreading the word on her cuisine may it be television, radio, or in person. She has written two books d ...

Army Mobile Command Center for UAV Launch
After visiting the Denver RC Modeler Club one day as they practiced for the national finals in PHX that year, we attempted a touch and go landing on our Blitz Mobile, which is a 74 foot long NASCAR type truck and trailer. Probably nothing more than a Fighter Pilots son from the cold war wanting to re-invent the aircraft carrier concept on a almost nano scale? We were successful on doing a touch and bounce on the top of the trailer without too much difficulty.

Cinema File: 'The Brothers Bloom' a surprising, atypical summer flick
Summertime traditionally is reserved for big-studio productions, movies full of expensive stars and special effects, sequels to proven box office hits. What this usually means is more of the same, the safest bets possible to ensure return on investment for the producers, but little in the way of true substance.
